Bye Bye RecRoom

RecRoom announced March 30th that effective June 1st, RecRoom will be ending operations and shutting down the servers.

Effective Immediately

• Staff Applications are paused indefinitely.

• Ban Appeals are paused indefinitely.

We appreciate all of you who chose to visit and support the ^LGBTQplusSocialHangout on RecRoom. It saddens the entire team to see almost 5 years of memories, friendships, events, and community building, that were fostered through the Social Hangout, lose it’s platform due to RecRoom’s internal failures.

With that said, the ^LGBTQplusSocialHangout will remain accessible until RecRoom inevitably shuts down their servers in June. Also, this discord will remain open and accessible after the shutdown. A community of ~3000 people will not cease to exist simply because of RecRooms decision to shut down. While we are unsure of what the future holds for the LGBTQ Social Hangout and it’s name, we hope to eventually further build the community in others spaces if given the opportunity in the future.
